It's about time that an agreement signed by the Education Secretary, Armin Luistro in cooperation with the Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP) and the Department of Education (DepEd). The agreement to lend livelihood loans to public school teachers at low interest rates has been signed last year, 2014. Under this loan facility program, the credit extension is given to qualified DepEd employees. Payment term includes via salary deduction scheme.
The Loan Agreement:
This agreement states that a loanable amount of as much as 500,000 or an equivalent of up to 8 months of their gross pay at a yearly interest rate of only 10.5 %. On the other hand, a bigger amount, which cannot exceed a money value of Php 1 million, is being made available for qualified borrower DepEd officials at the same interest rate as that offered for rank-and-file employees.

Maximum Loanable Amount:
You can loan any amount up to an aggregate of P875,000. Please note that your loanable amount will be computed based on our minimum net take home pay requirement of P3,000. (ask from a customer service assistant).

Monthly interest rate is variable depending on the tenor of your loan. Bank charges include a is 6% fee of the amount loaned (2% bank charge, 3% taxes, 1% service fee).
